Corridors of history.
Large Roman sculptures and ancient pottery displayed on plinths with accompanying text and graphics telling their story.
One of the world's most formidable empires behind glass.
In 2013 Beaufort Bespoke won the tender to manufactured and install the ‘Roman Empire : Power and People’ Exhibit at Bristol Museum & Art Gallery. The display included over 160 pieces ranging from ancient sculptures to persevered children’s clothing.
Beaufort Bespoke was tasked with creating the cabinets to display these attractions and historical items. Due to the weight of these statues and sculptures the cabinets had to be built to sustain the stress applied to the units.
Over 160 pieces on loan from the British Museum explore the story of one of the most formidable empires the world has ever seen. Artefacts reveal the wealth, power and organisation of the Empire, but also how the Romans viewed their provinces and people.
Other items chart the experiences of those living across their realm of power, from northern Britain to Egypt and the Middle East. After its run at Bristol Museum and Art Gallery the exhibition will go on to tour the UK.
